Every year, many students face a major crossroads after finishing their Class 10 board exams. A common dilemma is whether to stay with the ICSE/ISC track or switch over to the CBSE board for their higher secondary education.

This discussion stems from a practical reality. The national-level competitive exams in India, specifically JEE for engineering and NEET for medical admission, are closely aligned with the NCERT curriculum framework. Since CBSE schools directly follow NCERT textbooks as their core material, many students and parents believe that making the shift to CBSE reduces the academic burden. It allows them to save time by avoiding the extensive, descriptive, and literature-heavy requirements of the ISC curriculum.
